Barrie's experience incorporates almost twenty years in the corporate communications, marketing and planning disciplines specifically within the telecommunications and networking sectors. He graduated with a BA (Hons) Degree in Business Studies and over the years has amassed a wealth of high profile contacts with the media, market influencers and commentators, investors and public figures. Prior to establishing Cohesive’s forerunner “Multimedia Public Relations & Marketing” over a decade ago, Barrie held senior corporate communications positions within a variety of blue chip, hi-tech companies including Newbridge Networks, Nortel and Pirelli. With a burning desire to leave the corporate confines and change the way that people view technology and its benefits, Barrie left the relative security of the larger organisation to establish his own agency. His experience, contacts and impressive technical knowledge have enabled him to offer high-value, relevant and results-driven consultative advice to a multitude of clients - from start-ups to bigger players to US companies setting up a European HQ. Now as Cohesive Communications' Chairman and continuing company mentor Barrie concentrates the majority of his time and energy on supplying strategic consultative advice to clients. He also builds alliances with like-minded and mutually beneficial partners and takes an active role in the company’s new business development. He is continually seeking new and improved ways of delivering communications programmes and guidance to new and existing clients and has become an industry guru and commentator on technology issues that directly impact UK business owners.
